That's pretty much the first thing I thought of when I heard the news... seems to convenient... seems like it was too easy. I heard the "tip" they received about his location was from last year, so the thought of bin Laden staying in the same location for that long just seems too far fetched. My only guess is that they did a quick "burial" ceremony just to avoid having a retaliation... or having Bin Laden's people attempt to get his body back. Osama bin Laden’s death was announced exactly eight years after George W Bush made his now infamous ‘Mission Accomplished’ announcement. Even spookier, it happened 66 years and 6 hours after the world learned about the death of Hitler. That’s 666.


lol.. If Osama died years ago how did he release videos in 2007? As for hurrying with the burial it's his religions tradition to be buried within 24 hours. If you don't think al qaeda would use his grave a a shrine I think you're not even logical. Why do people think this is a conspiracy? They have reasons why they will not release the actual photos or video, think about it. I think eventually photos will be leaked, but who knows when.


You live by the sword, you die by the sword, hesitant as I am to believe much in the media, especially in the uk where it is mostly a mix of benal celebrity clap trap, and politically motivated, heavily slanted stories, I believe this to be true. I do not think the timing is an accident, they may have had a fix on him for a little while, but this certainly gave the U.S. of A a lift at a challenging time, and will not hurt your president's popularity. God bless America and God save the queen, as to what God does to bin laden, well let's hope it's fitting.


@ Sw Vile: I agree that you have to bury the body within 24 hours according to Islam. But USA officials reported that Osama wasn't carrying any weapons when they approached him. Then why didn't they arrest him? Why kill him? They did arrest Saddam and kept him for many weeks. This would've been a better move. Plus, if his grave was to be used as a shrine, don't you think it would be a great place to find potential terrorists. Who would visit the shrine of a terrorist, but a terrorist? And the last video released by Osama clearly showed his deteriorating health with multiple disorders and grave diseases. The body showed in the pic is of a healthy man with black hair Too many points contradicting the whole theory


I have to agree with all of you. He is alive and well ! This was just an excuse to get the USA and UK out of Afganistan. The war was going on to long! He has been paid by the USA Government as he ws and still is a friend of Bush !Hence the reason Bush did not want to be in the lime light ! I have a belief that Bin laden is living in a suburb of Parklands in Cape Town South Africa. The truth will prevail and then we can all say " I told you so ! " Regards Andrew


@ Emily. They tried to arrest him, but he obviously resisted arrest, the SEALs had a time limit to stick to and had to do what had to be done. If they did bury him and there was in fact a shrine the U.S couldn't sit there and harass people visiting the shrine, I don't even think know terrorists would visit this, the shrine also keeps the words Osama Bin Laden going around for longer than a burial at sea will. The body in the pic was NOT released by the US, it was made by 1 man who already admitted to releasing the fake photo shopped picture. i have ummed and ahhhed about this since sunday (country bumkin speak for "tried to decide") and after weighing up the pro's and cons have come to the completely confused conclusion that.....I dunno. On one hand I think that Pakistan have been made to look like a bunch of numpties (bumkin speak for incompetants). I mean not only did they supposedly not know the worlds most wanted man was living next door to a military school but they didnt know that the USA was carrying out a major military operation within their borders. This coupled with the fact that I dont think America wants to become known as the "liar liar pants on fire" country, especialy over the iraq debacle over WMD being shady. Buuuut... As AHBotha says Afghanistan is getting very expensive both in lives and in materials and with both countries struggling to balance the books could it be time we wern't there. Mind you Al Qaeda have confirmed that he's dead now so......

Dead or not this whole thing stinks and for all the same reasons everyone stated on this post I dont need to say much as everyone here seems to be thinking the same as i its all BS...
