Near Death Experiences *Shudders

Posted: May 17, 2011 by Emily

Ok so, in my previous post, I discussed reincarnation, and got REALLY (like- really, really) interesting comments from biggabum, avipersden and alienautopsy (thanks guys)
So I started studying, and there was so much that my brain exploded… so I’m gonna take one thing at a time… this time I’m going to talk about near death experiences… spooky…

Near death experiences are also called NDEs and they are the things that people see when they are about to die. Now, are these some kind of hallucinations or spiritual experiences- THAT is the question.

Let’s talk about some real cases of NDEs.

After reading on near death experiences for about a day, I found out that people get these feelings:

Light
There is often an intense light, which is not painful on the eyes. Other people cannot see it, but the person who is dying can see that bright light. This light might be god… I don’t know.

Calmness
This is more like acceptance of death. The person is at ease and feels peaceful, and feels physical comfort.

OBE or out of body experience
Some people also feel that they have left the body and are now flying about in the room, as they are a spirit. Sometimes this ‘spririt’ flies into the space, or in the sky.

Tunnel
There were also a few cases when people saw themselves in a dark tunnel with light coming from the other end. I suppose when they exit that tunnel, they go to the ‘other side’.

Loved ones
Ok this one is my real experience. When my grandmother passed away (she had cancer), she saw her late father in law and mother in law. We knew this because she was saying their names as if she could see them. Also, she was very weak due to her disease and could not move her limbs. She was so weak that she couldn’t talk. But as she was about to go, she could easily sit up and she started to talk. To be frank, we all were scared as hell when she started addressing our deceased relatives. And in some time, she was gone. This one is real for sure, because I have seen it myself.

And my friend’s grandfather also had an NDE. He was about to die when he heard a strong voice (it was of his elder brother) that his time has still not come and so he must return. And then he returned to life.

Now I don’t know what happens exactly… but NDEs are very real guys… trust me.

In my opinion if they were hallucinations, why would people always hallucinate that they were seeing there relatives? seems to frequent to just be a coincidence. The light could just be the withdrawl of this dimension and simply passing into another.

My father was an alcaholic and eventually destroyed his liver. In the week running upto his death he was in such a poor state that he was incoherant he didnt recognise family members and swore constantly (this is a man who I had never heard swear ever in my life). He was in a right state. On his final day we spent the day in his hospital room but he was unaware we were there. We were told by the doctor that he probably wouldnt make it through the night and my sisters and i were sent home by my mother to be with our families and the following morning we had her phone call to say he died. What she told us was my dad had been restless all night untill he suddenly sat bolt upright in bed, looked at my mother and said, perfectly calmly, "dont worry my mums here for me." and then he lay back down sighed and passed on to his next life.

@Biggabum: I'm sorry to hear that, and also I'm speechless. You know, these things just make me think... But I'm all blank right now. My neighbors had a small kid. She was like 10 or something... Really sick, and when her time came... she said peacefully to her parents "I'm going now. Take care of my little brother" After writing these posts, I've been unable to sleep. It's been a week and I'm kinda scared... I think I'll cover topics other than paranormal. I feel scared. Dont know why though

I think the more i have read on the paranormal the less scared i have become. I have been on ghost hunts and sceances (aha but how can there be ghosts if there is life after death I hear you ask. Well I think some souls, maybe those that dont accept their death, or fight moving on, may get trapped here/limbo and i also think that some apparitions are just recordings of highly emotional events, but thats another thread ). Most sceances or medium shows seem to be for entertainment only and are just plain fake, but occasionally you hit a genuine one and then you can learn massive amounts. Living here in the UK with so many castles and old jails n stuff ghost hunts are quite common and the stuff my wife and i have experienced (on one occasion we entered a room and my wife found it stifling, she began to sweat and had to sit down because she was breathless and her heart was racing. Yet when we took her out of the room to get a cup of tea, she almost instantly stopped sweating and felt fine. At the end of the night the medium mentioned it to the owner of the home we were investigating, who found it fascinating, because in the 1800,s the house had been used as a hospice during a local outbreak of scarlet fever and that room had been used for the most severe cases). As you learn more you understand more and the fear subsides. Oh except in the case of mice....i hate mice....
