Are Aliens Real? Really...?

Posted: Dec 03, 2011 by thesecondcoming

Have you noticed the rise in celebrities spotting aliens? The latest comes from a Tweet from Posh Spice who photographed a large bright orb outside her bed room window one night and claimed it was a UFO on Twitter the next day. First Robbie Williams claims to have seen them – although he has also recorded an alien visitation documentary – and a week before Posh Spice it was one-hit wonder, Billy Ray Cyrus.

You may think all the above are attention seeking, and maybe you are right, but there are plenty of other official voices that claim we should take the existence of aliens seriously.

In 2010, it was reported in reputable Britain newspapers The Sunday Times, The Telegraph and The Daily Mail that Mazlan Othman, a Malaysian astrophysicist, is set to be the appointed the first point of contact for aliens, if and when they visit planet Earth. Mazlan is later denied her appointment is true in the Guardian, but she is the current head of the UN’s little known Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA).

Go on to their website (via the link at the bottom of the page) and it all appears like the usual authentic Government website – full of useless information, it´s the most user-unfriendly website you´ll ever have to use (apart from your own local.gov site) and even has a section on law – space law! There is also an address and email for you to write to. No phone number.

The Guardian newspaper reported they tried to contact UN and got as far as the switchboard - but nobody could be reached at UNOOSA as the extension was unavailable. No surprises there! Furthermore the website does not explain what to do if you encounter aliens, which would be considered as essential information. Still, it´s advertising jobs so good luck getting an interview!

Furthermore, go to the about us section, titled Office for Outer Space Affairs. Read the page that is supposed to explain what they do and who is running the show and it tells you nothing. They have no aims, operations, or experiments to talk about. Instead they tell us what the department has previously been called. In other words: utter drivel. Are we then to assume that is because UNOOSA are doing nothing and is nothing more than a confusing website to navigate and a pretend UN front to make us believe they are taking contact with aliens seriously. Mazlan Othman certainly doesn´t get a mention.

The rise in media attention of alien life forms, and in particularly the rise in celebrity alien spotting, makes one believe that the whole UFO phenomena is little more than publicity stunts to make money or the government actually want us to believe in aliens. Maybe the two go hand in hand, but is the alien question really that convincing?

Miyuki Hatoyama, the pretty wife of Japan's Prime Minister-elect, Yukio Hatoyama, is a lifestyle guru, a macrobiotics enthusiast, an author of cookery books, a retired actress, a divorcee, and a fearless clothes designer (she´s made a skirt made from Hawaiian coffee sacks). She also claims to have been abducted by aliens whilst she slept in her bed 20 years ago.

In her book titled, “Very Strange Things I´ve Encountered” she talks about knowing Mister Scientology, Tom Cruise in a former life and that “While my body was asleep, I think my soul rode on a triangular-shaped UFO and went to Venus. It was a very beautiful place, and it was very green."

Now, I can forgive her for her English, but firstly she states, she “thinks” her soul left her body and went to Venus and that Venus was very beautiful and green. But to be fair you can say that about anywhere. In fact, just yesterday I was speaking to my mother on Skype and she asked me what the view from my balcony was like. “It´s beautiful. Very green,” I said. I live on a residential estate in concrete Cordoba, Argentina. So can we believe Madam Hatoyama, the beautiful dancing queen of a Prime Minister?

Apparently some scholars can – or at least they believe in UFO abductions. Dr David M Jacobs, a professor of history at Temple University is so convinced UFO´s exist, and that aliens are abducting humans for experiments, he has organised the International Center for Abduction Research (ICAR), “an organization devoted to the dissemination of trustworthy information about UFO abductions.” Principally David Jacobs gives advice to therapists and lay individuals treating a patient who believes they were abducted by aliens.

So again, it seems like an authentic website when someone in a position of social creditability is doing something to try and convince others that the matter is real. But if you note, he is a professor of history – and according to those advanced civilisation started in Sumeria in 5,500 BCE. At which point, according to the Ancient Alien theory, we were implanted by alien DNA and 3000 years later given the engineering knowledge to build the pyramids of Egypt!

yay summat not spam at last. To be honest i pretty well take anything celebs say with a pinch of salt. Especially when they are trying to raise their public awareness. (A certain Mr B is currently moving to a European FC, but hes been away for a while so we need reminding that they exist). As for the UN, I think its a case of being able to say they are prepared for any eventuality. Always dubious about the claims of Alien abduction, I mean why would a technologically advanced civilisation navigate the millions of lightyears across the universe avoiding the obvious dangers and problems to examine someones arse. Especially as all the information they would need is already stored in medical files the world over. Yeah i think abductions may have happened but i think if they are going to think of us as primitive enough to examine without our consent, they arnt going to be adverse to a bit of dissecting, so getting put back intact is a little unlikely (IMO). Im open minded about the rest
