NASA astronomers have confirmed the existence of an Earth-like planet similar to our own. The early indications show that the Planet Kepler 22-b has a similar habitat to ours though the team of scientists working with the Kepler telescope have not yet been able to establish whether the planet is mostly made of rock, gas or liquid.



Among the list of questions that do not get answered in the press is how old is the planet? Perhaps the astronomers can´t provide us with an answer to that anyway, but the discovery raises questions as to whether the species of the planet are more technologically advanced than we are on Earth – and if so, how much more advanced are they?

Or for that matter, are any of the 1094 planets identified as potentially capable of supporting life more technologically advanced than us. Further tests brought that figure down to 48 and some people breathed a sigh of relief. Of course, this new information only raises the likelihood of the existence of aliens, and who is to say their planet it is not too similar to Earth. They´re probably wondering the same thing we are about other planets, solar systems and alien life forms.

If the story is true there could be some exciting times ahead for mankind. Of course, it could be another conspiracy theory cooked up by NASA and the rest to re-enforce our belief in aliens. And if there is one distinct element missing from the whole alien existence saga is compelling evidence that aliens exist – only that they might exist.
