Were they Japanese or Aliens? Nobody Knows

Posted: Dec 14, 2011 by Emily

It was the night of 24th of February in the year 1942 when extraordinary happenings were recorded in Los Angeles. Throughout the coastal area, military forces got into action and strange flying object or objects were detected, coming from the ocean towards the city. The US had recently been attacked by Japan at Pearl Harbor and as a result there was high alert amongst US military forces.

As the mysterious object drew closer to the city coast, it was tracked and wartime measures began to be put into action. The whole city was blacked out on that eventful day fearing enemy attack. Search lights were made to train over those strange objects. Soon after that, firing orders were given to forces. Air-defense batteries began bombardment.

The searchlights congregated on their aim as it seemingly advanced unstoppably onwards, undeterred by the weaponry shells exploding around. It progressed at a slow speed. Speed approximations varied between 50 and 200 mph. Some assumed it was an airship. But how then is it possible that the weaponry shells have minimal effect on it?

Confusion and panic ruled the city that day. There were confusing reports from all around the city.
Various air defense units informed several aircraft- some reported that there was only one- and others believed that there were many. Eye-witnesses defined the enigmatic airplanes as “lozenge-shaped”, “blob-like”, and with a red-orange colored radiance. Those who got to have a close look at that mystery object said that they haven’t seen anything more beautiful that that ever.

Interceptor aircrafts lined up waiting on the runway. They were never launched though. The fear was that the mystery aircraft might herald an extensive attack by Japanese. Only a few interceptor airplanes were there at that time so a decision of holding them in reserve was in order to deal with the expected bigger attack later on.

The air-defense bombardment went on for many hours before the mystery aircraft vanished from view. On the following day, the lanes of Los Angeles were scattered with wreckages from the numerous spent shells.

According to the later assessments about this battle in Los Angeles, it was reported that six people were killed on that extraordinary night. Heart attacks, stray shells and road accidents caused by black out were the main reasons behind these deaths.

Press published unusual pictures of congregating searchlights converging over Los Angeles. There were no talks about UFOs at that time. Japan was the prime suspect then. There were also speculations about the mystery aircraft being launched for a submarine nearby. Navy quoted the whole incident as a false alarm whereas air force officials maintained that there really was an extraordinary aircraft flying that night.

It was in the later years that that night’s events were regarded as an antecedent to the UFO occurrences. Photos of the night's happenings were studied and it was claimed that a flying saucer shape lit up in the searchlights' rays.

The Los Angeles Battle was unusual indeed. Whether you are some skeptic or a believer, whether you see it as an alien show of power, in which extra-terrestrials made their existence known and showed the vainness of us struggling to use our artilleries for attack; or whether you see it as just another mass hysteria case, in which large number of people imagined about something which didn’t really exist, you can certainly see in the night's happenings a presaging of the unidentified flying object occurrence which was going to rocket into everyone’s consciousness only some years later.

Ok did a bit of digging on this and if your interested there is some wobbly footage of the craft taken in 1942 on you tube (search "battle for Los Angeles 1942") a couple of stills from the event on there too (bloody spooky). Again the Air force claimed that the object was a weather balloon (the answer to everything it seems Battle for LA=weather balloon, Roswell=weather balloon, JFK assasination=weather balloon") i have decided to purchase a number of these weather balloons to build a nuclear bomb shelter (just in case uk does go to war with iran) coz they seem to be indistructable as apparently there were over 1500 rounds of AA gun shell fired at the object

Wow... nice research. It IS a spooky case then, innit... And yeah, it seems that water balloons are the answer to everything... lol
