Energy

The simple definition of the term “Energy” is the ability to perform work. From a physical science stand point, there are a number of forms of energy, including: electrical energy, nuclear energy, sound energy, thermal energy, luminous energy, magnetic energy, chemical energy, mechanical energy, elastic energy, and radiant energy. These forms of energy can be further divided into two main categories: potential energy and kinetic energy. Sometimes both categories can be mixed.

Energy sources can also be categorized as non-renewable or renewable. Energy that is used in our homes, such as electricity, is usually generated by hydroelectric means, by burning coal, or by a nuclear reaction. This makes the water, coal, or nuclear item the energy source. Gasoline used for automobiles comes from petroleum, but also sometimes ethanol. Ethanol is a source of energy that is manufactured by processing corn.

A non-renewable source of energy is one that cannot be replenished easily or one that cannot be recreated. A renewable source of energy is one that can be easily replenished. Both of these types of energy sources can be used to manufacture secondary types of energy such as hydrogen or electricity.

If you are interested in learning more about energy, and alternative energy sources and ideas, log on to the Energy section found on truthed.com. Here you can get great ideas on free energy technologies, energy alternatives, and the like. You can also learn more about self sustainable energy sources such as wind power, solar power, and geothermal power. Find out how to reduce overall carbon emissions while becoming more energy independent.

This type of free and open discussion is quite beneficial and can help to reduce our dependency upon energy sources from foreign countries. Feel free to join the site and post your own information and ideas, or just read what others are saying. You will find this section to be quite interesting and informative.
