JFK Conspiracy

John Fitzgerald Kennedy was the thirty fifth president of the United States. He served as president from 1961, until the time he was assassinated in November of 1963. Mr. Kennedy was elected president after a difficult campaign where he took on very prominent candidates in Washington. He was also a practicing Roman Catholic, which made many areas of the country quite wary.

John F. Kennedy presided over a difficult time in history. Some of the most notable historical events during his presidency included the Cuban Missile Crisis, The Bay of Pigs invasion, the construction of the Berlin Wall, the American Civil Rights Movement, the Space Race, and the beginnings of the Vietnam War. Many people believe that it was because of his politics and the way he handled these issues that made him such a large target for assassination.

President Kennedy was shot and killed on November, 22, 1963 while in a parade in Dallas, Texas. A man by the name of Lee Harvey Oswald was charged with the crime, and was also shot and killed two days later, and before he could stand trial, by Jack Ruby.

The Warren Commission, the House Select Committee on Assassinations (HSCA), and the FBI all came to the conclusion that Oswald acted alone and was the sole assassin. The HSCA did, however, dispute some of the acoustic evidence, which allowed for talk of a probable conspiracy. Today, theories on the assassination still abound, and much of the evidence that has been presented by the government is disputed by many.
