Lunar anomalies are shapes and structures that can be found on the surface of the moon that are not immediately explainable. These anomalies are often photographed and examined by a variety of people, from everyday observers to scientists. Along with these photographs come plenty of questions, and even more speculation. So, what exactly are these items?

There is so much we simply do not know for sure about the moon. We know what we have been told through studies released by NASA, and various space missions, but is that really all there is to learn? Chances are there is much more to know about this mysterious rock than we are given access to.

In fact, there are a number of theories surrounding many lunar anomalies and lunar mysteries. Some people believe that aliens once had, or may still have, bases set up on the moon. Some people believe the anomalies are items, other than flags, debris, and hardware that have been left by astronauts on their visits. It is thought that the government knows what these items are, but they simply do not make this information public.

For years, possibly even centuries, prior to moon landings being made, people with telescopes reported seeing signs of life, or even building being done on the moon. There are also a wide range of photographs that appear to show various structures and shapes on the surface of the moon that simply do not meet any reasonable explanations provided.

While we have been to the moon, brought back surface samples, and we have supposedly mapped it to an extensive point, it may just be that there are many more answers out there which may not be so easy to find. There could be so much more to learn about the mysterious lunar surface that cannot be found in any text book or government document.
