The Moon Landing refers to the United States’ first manned mission to the moon, where human beings actually stepped foot onto the surface. Beginning in the late 1960s, the United States launched several missions to the moon, leading to a total of twelve people actually walking on the surface. These missions were completed by sending two astronauts in Lunar Modules on each of six NASA missions that took place over the course of a forty one month time span.

The first of these missions began on July 21, 1969 when Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong made it to the moon on Apollo 11. Armstrong is credited as being the first to set foot on the surface of the moon. The missions were concluded on December 14, 1972, when Jack Schmitt and Gene Cernan made it to the moon on Apollo 17. Cernan is credited with being the last to step off the surface of the moon. Each of the Apollo flights had a third crew member who did not leave the Command Module. The last three of the missions also included a rover to gain an increase in mobility.

To this day, there are many people who believe all of the Apollo moon landings were nothing more than a hoax. While there are others who insist that the landings can be easily verified by using a laser and a telescope to bounce beams off of the three retro-reflector arrays that were left on the surface of the moon by Apollo 11, 14, and 15.

In August of 2009, the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter launched by NASA sent back high resolution photos of the sites where Apollo landed. The photographs showed the descent stages that were left behind by the landers, as well as the paths that were created in the lunar dust by the astronaut’s walking.

So, do you believe this evidence is just further means of a cover up, or did we really land on the moon?
