Technology, by definition, is the ability to make, use, and understand tools, techniques, tactics, systems, and methods of organization to help serve a particular purpose or solve a particular problem. Today, there are advances made almost on a daily basis in the world of technology, many of which are extremely helpful for people’s everyday life.

From items such as computers and cell phones, to medical imaging technologies and treatment procedures, technology is everywhere, and can be quite beneficial. In fact, a wide range of occupations would not even exist today if it were not for advancements made in technology.

But with the positives technology has to offer, comes the negatives as well. What is often used for good can easily be used for nefarious purposes. While this is unfortunate, it does happen on a daily basis, and what is even more shocking is the fact that government is often involved in using technology for purposes it was not originally intended.

While some of these issues have come to light because of media coverage (such as wiretapping, illegal surveillance, and the like), the truth is, there is much more that takes place on a daily basis that no one is supposed to ever find out about.
