Default Mayan year 2012

Theres a big spook that is causing people to believe the world is ending in the year 2012. Mayan calanders have been tracing this information for years in anticipation of the end. Do you guys believe that there will be an end?

I don't think so but I have read that there is a 20% chance that in 2036 a NEO (Near Earth Object) is meant to collide with the earth. I hope we manage to get some form of defence for asteroids by then.

i know my credit card expires and that might mean the end of the world for my girlfriend shoe shopping habits.

seriously i have never bought into this mayan calander being the end of the world. i remember something about the end og the age of pisces and the beginning of the age of aquarius. this will herald a new era in human civilisation. we will see great teachers arising (as we did 2000 years ago at the begining of piscean aeon)and new values and beliefs being adopted.

ROFL @ Ellion. thats hilarious, and I can feel your girlfriends pain for the future of your credit card.

But I don't entirely buy into it either, and if theres some god that comes and takes all the Christians away....well I'm stuck here anyways.

Ya this Mayan nonsense is gaining more credence for the simple reason that 2012 is pretty close to 2008 (now). I think I had survived MANY end of the worlds and still pretty much alive.

I don't think that it's going to happen but my boyfriend thinks that it's going to after he watched my show on the history channel with me

Well, I just hope that everything just goes on smoothly, and that all NEOs miss us by a wide margin. The thought of Earth being snuffed out is disturbing to say the least.

Nah...This is something that I don't believe. The world will come to the end someday but I don't think it will be in the year 2012. Don't know how the Mayan come to this conclusion.
