If anyone can give insight about this, please do.
I haven't heard anything about this in the mainstream media, so it's new news to me. Please watch fully. And also, if you google about this, you find articles from way back to June of 2008.

I do think the government has too much power when it comes to civil liberties. While it is good that the previous administration is gone, we still need to be diligent as many of the people who supported such policies are still in office.

It does seem that President Obama is now willing to let a special prosecutor look into the torture memos and other war crimes. I think he is taking a lot of heat from the left on that one, and will let it take its course without him getting the blame from the right.

I do agree that one can be critical of the Obama Administration and not be racist. Unfortunately, a lot of the tea parties had racist overtones on many of the signs carried by some of the people. If one does criticize President Obama, do not have a picture of a monkey or a man with huge lips. That is racist.

It is interesting that the laws being proposed to check for illegal downloaded music and other items is deemed not to go far enough by the right. Illegal wiretapping should be prosecuted, and there is a book coming out on how far the Bush Administration went. I think the Obama Administration would be wise to curb any extra powers of search on individuals.
