http://itn.co.uk/news/50c9ac1ccfc8c5...d2b3a34a0.html

It is spreading.......

The WHO has describe this as a "pottentially catastrophic event"......

"The flu combines genetic material from pigs, birds and humans in a way researchers have not seen before." - WTF????

And if I am reading in the main media that: "Earlier in the day, the head of the World Health Organization said that the outbreak has the potential to develop into a pandemic".......

I'm sorry, but my alarm bells are ringing!

Being a muppet here, and coming from somebody who failed flambouyantly in their 'A' level 'Social Biology' exams.... (I couldn't tell a punnett square or genetic recombinant human erythropoietin from my arse or my elbow).......

How the F*ck can you state, that:

"The flu combines genetic material from pigs, birds and humans in a way researchers have not seen before".......?

It just doesn't compute in my simple brain!!!!

Is there anyone with a medical background that could comment on this? Please?

MEXICO CITY – Mexico's president assumed new powers Saturday to isolate people infected with a deadly swine flu strain as authorities struggled to contain an outbreak that world health officials warned could become a global epidemic.
New cases of swine flu were confirmed in Kansas and California and suspected in New York City, but health officials said they didn't know whether it was the strain that has killed up to 68 people in Mexico and likely sickened more than 1,000.
Mexican soldiers and health workers patrolled airports and bus stations as they tried to corral people who may be infected with the swine flu, as it became clearer that the government may have been slow to respond to the outbreak in March and early April.
Now, even detaining the ill may not keep the strain — a combination of swine, bird and human influenza that people may have no natural immunity to — from spreading, epidemiologists say.
The World Health Organization on Saturday asked countries around the world to step up reporting and surveillance of the disease and implement a coordinated response to contain it.
Two dozen new suspected cases were reported in Mexico City alone, where authorities suspended schools and all public events until further notice. More than 500 concerts, sporting events and other gatherings were canceled in the metropolis of 20 million.
The Mexican government issued a decree authorizing President Felipe Calderon to invoke special powers letting the Health Department isolate patients and inspect homes, incoming travelers and baggage.
Officials said the decree gives clear legal authority to Health Department workers who might otherwise face reprisals.

This is NOT a natural virus. It's simply impossible. Have you ever heard of the island down there that you cannot see on new maps? I forgot the name of it, someone wrote a book about it. This is something that either was not supposed to make contact with humans, wasn't supposed to spread as far as it did, or just a complete experiment created to be used on humans to lower our immune systems ( our body's don't even have the natural ability to fight this off and there are now vaccines available for the public as of now) or simply kill some of us in another attempt to find out the best way to lower the planet's human population. Because we all know it has to be done, there are simply too many people on this planet and something has to be done about it before it's too late for the existence of the entire human race. Here is A link to this on yahoo.

Mexico fights swine flu with 'pandemic potential'

This might be the exact same thing as okirun's post but the time on the post is way different than what time it is here so I don't know how updated mine could be if at all.

Some of our Bio-Weapon Materials Are Missing!!

Fort Detrick disease samples may be missing

Army criminal investigators are looking into the possibility that disease samples are missing from biolabs at Fort Detrick.

As first reported in today's edition of The Frederick News-Post by columnist Katherine Heerbrandt, the investigators are from the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Division unit at Fort Meade.

Chad Jones, spokesman for Fort Meade, said CID is investigating the possibility of missing virus samples from the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases.

He said the only other detail he could provide is that the investigation is ongoing.

Fort Detrick does not have its own CID office, Jones said, which is why Fort Meade's CID was brought in.

Jones said he could not comment on when the investigation started.

CID is responsible for investigating crimes where the Army is, or may be, a party of interest, according to the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command website.

USAMRIID is the Army's top biodefense lab, where researchers study pathogens including Ebola, anthrax and plague.

In February, USAMRIID halted all its research into these and other diseases, known as "select agents" following the discovery of virus samples that weren't listed in its inventory.

The institute's commander, Col. John Skvorak, ordered research halted while workers conducted a complete inventory of the institute's select agents.

That inventory is nearly completed, though the exact end date isn't known yet, said Caree Vander Linden, USAMRIID spokeswoman.

Vander Linden said she didn't know about the CID investigation and referred questions to the CID's head public affairs office.

There is no indication whether the CID investigation is connected to USAMRIID's re-inventorying of its select agent stocks.

I saw this little snippet on Bloomberg, note it before it's gone for ever!

Quote:
The first case was seen in Mexico on April 13. The outbreak coincided with the President Barack Obama’s trip to Mexico City on April 16. Obama was received at Mexico’s anthropology museum in Mexico City by Felipe Solis, a distinguished archeologist who died the following day from symptoms similar to flu, Reforma newspaper reported. The newspaper didn’t confirm if Solis had swine flu or not.

Are we perhaps looking at a bio-assasination attempt?

I remember the swine flu scares of the 1970s! I don't think people should over react, as only people who have lung problems like me would be in danger of kicking the bucket.

If one is hearty and hale, they will just get the flu symptoms. If one is older or in poor health, they will get other complications.

The swine flu was an "epidemic" back in the 1970s (they did not use the word "pandemic", which is scarier). The government and the media love to use scare tactics and sell ad space. Swine flu pandemic, millions could die! Stay tuned after these messages (because the story really isn't as important as selling you deodorant and other products).
