There is a difference between the moon being inhabited by life and a visitation of the moon. The atmosphere has always been thin there, and the craters prove that.
Zecharia Sitchin is mentioned in the article a lot, so he must have another book coming out. They are interesting to read, but he lacks credit in the history department. |

http://weeklyworldnews.com/alien-ale...found-on-moon/ It is definitely a hoax. |

Agreed!
But it seems to be the hot topic on ATS at the minute!

Sounds like a hoax to me for sure. I just don't understand why geologists and astronomers even question such a thing. According to the most accepted running hypothesis concerning the formation of the moon, a Mars-sized body struck the Earth during it's proto-Earth period blasting large amounts of debris into orbit around Earth, which eventually became consolidated by accretion to form Luna. The thing is, when the moon first formed, it was largely molten with a high degree of volcanic activity. During this time, the mares and lunar highlands where created. When it cooled and solidified, large areas contracted forming wrinkle-ridges. Rilles also formed when, for example, lava tubes collapsed. My point is that these geological features on the moon are still visible today. The surface of the Earth is much different from when it formed, because geological features are constantly being weathered. Plate tectonics are constantly subducting and destroying older crust and new crust is being formed at divergent faults. Volcanoes are creating new continental boundaries, and earthquakes are also changing the landscape. But the moon has no atmosphere, no weathering, no active volcanism, no plate tectonics. That's why it doesn't change. If there was ever intelligent life or civilization, or if there was ever an intelligent visit to the Moon besides us humans, it's not like the evidence of such an event would be gone and lost forever. We should be able to find much more evidence indicative of intelligent life at the surface of the moon than a crusty angel statue. It would be pretty safe to say, "You can't find just an angel statue on the moon, you can only find an angel statue with plenty of other signs of intelligence there." On a planet like Earth, it's theoretically possible for some such indication of early intelligent life to go unnoticed, but on the Moon, evidence doesn't just dissappear, even with all of the meteor impacts.

There are some at ATS who are very upset at the "debunkers" who spoiled it be finding out the true source. They are about denying ignorance, and that includes wild theories that have no basis in fact.
Most of the sources for tales such as this one come from other countries' versions of the Weekly Midnight Globe type rags. Pravda is now considered such a newspaper, as they have had to find a niche in order to survive the post Communist era. |
