It seems that an a firm that makes electric cars can make money:
http://www.techcrunch.com/2009/08/07...sters-in-july/ Tesla Motors did receive a loan to help it make electric sedans that will get around 300 miles per charge. More jobs in the USA as manufacturing will be based here while the Roadster will be made in the UK. |

if an elec. car can go 300 miles in a single charge, imagine how far a motor bike will go with the same technology.

I do think Tesla and other companies will jump on the electric motorbike in the near future. They would sell very well, especially in the city and suburban areas.
I put this story up because there are many out there who always state the technology would never make money. (At least that is what Big Oil wants people to think.) |

This was my very first car....I was five yrs old and I loved it. It wasn't called the Tesla, but it did have rechargeable batteries that powered the electric motor. My electric car had wireless remote.
Big toys for big boys. I wonder what Nikola Tesla would be thinking?

kidflash i recently was on "cycle trader" price'n used bikes and i stumbled upon an ad for scooter world or motorscooter world. anyway, they have just received electric motorbikes in stock. i guess someone has already made them. lol they go several 100 miles a gallon, but the gas tank is only 1.5 gallons and they only go 70 m/h. still pretty awesome!!

I think Nikola Tesla would be quite proud of the electric cars out today.
My first car was called an SST. You pulled the string and it would go! |

K-B4-ME,
I watched the 2009 Isle of Man TT on TV a few days ago, one of the sessions included electric-power bikes, the TTXGP. Its top speed was 100mph+ and average lap speed was 88mph. .
