Soulmates are supposedly twin souls who spend lifetimes together in past lives. One theory is that at one time, two souls were in one body but then the gods were angered and separated the two and now, these two souls are condemned to find each other. Is believing in a soulmate an idealized fantasy? What are the odds of finding "the one" before I die?

You can have a good marriage with a non-soulmate. Having said that, I believe in soulmates. They give that sense of being completed, kinda like a mirror image. It could be your mother, son, friend, grandfather. It doesn't have to be romantic.

Nah, I think the concept of soulmates is both improbable and sad. I don't want to put all my eggs in one basket, so to speak. I don't want to think that there's one perfect person out there for me. It's far too idealized and I'd have to be realistic.

I love the idea of having a soulmate...I do believe in the them. My boyfriend and I are soulmates, at least that's how we feel and even some of our friends say that we were meant for one another. :-D

I had a soulmate and I lost her because of my own stupidity. Not a day passes that I don't think of her. I like to imagine that in another lifetime, I'll be with her. And that's why I believe in reincarnation. True or not, it gives me hope.

I noticed that so many websites are dedicated to finding one's soulmate. It sure generates a lot of business. If it's a matter of scouring the world for my soulmate then I need all the help I can get. If it's a matter of recognizing my soulmate from potential partners/exes, then I believe I can do that on my own.
I found a site that relates "how soulmates are the very source and meaning of existence." Woh, that is not how I want to live my life. And if my soulmate dies prematurely, does that mean I'd shrivel and die then? |

I think soul mates exist, but I also think that it is not really our purpose to wait and seek them out. I also feel that a soul mate does not necessarily have to be a significant other - it could be a relative or friend.

I think a lot of us have found our soul mates we just really aren't aware of it. When a marriage or some kind of union lasts for a long time, through the good and bad times, it's because it's a union of soul mates.

I know for a fact that soul mates and twinned souls exist. Again this is nothing I can prove, nor do I feed the need to do so.
