It's a worldwide phenomenon. Witches are growing in number. Rather than describing themselves as Satanists, they're passing it off as pagan worship or communing with nature. Media has picked up on it. It gets a lot of exposure in television series. It's all over in movies. Books on potions and witchcraft are bestsellers. I heard on the news that certain animals are being butchered and only some parts are taken out. Some theories suggest sorcery is involved. What's going on? Is the devil finally sinking its teeth into this generation?

Hopefully not! I really hope that this isn't something that is going to continue spreading... If you can get a hold of some of those animal story links that would be awesome.

I'd like to point out that Wicca is not synonymous with witchcraft. Wicca is a type of witchcraft that practices magic differently. It is a pagan religion with elements of animism and believes in reincarnation. There is a stigma to distinguishing oneself as a Wiccan. Like what you mentioned, I think acceptance will come soon. It's not as taboo a subject as before and there's even a growing fanbase.

Sorcery is evil and it's useless distinguishing one type of witch from the other. No such thing as a good witch either. Their spells, incantations, and potions may work to help people but ultimately they serve the fallen angel.

Ironic, isn't it?
In Indiana, a woman participating in an ancient Wiccan ritual in a cemetery missed when she moved to drive a sword into the ground and instead stabbed herself in the foot. The funny thing is the purpose of the ritual was to pay tribute for a run of good luck. LOL ________ XV750 Last edited by mistaken; 01-19-2011 at 07:43 PM. |

Wiccans and witchcraft are not synonymous with one another - but that is why the media sensationalizes these stories and creates fear among their viewers. Wicca is a pagan tradition involving nature, that's it, there is no conspiracy or secret there.

Look up the council of twelve and the white, red, yellow, brotherhoods and their agendas with bring back pagan faiths. Take a look at UN documents concerning this and the purpose for it.

Ooh a thread on witches most of the ones i know and love are nice people a few are a pain in the arse like all people, but a normal witch (that is the correct term for a practitioner of wicca) fears the threefold law that is if you do something bad to someone else it will return to you 3 times worse. Anyone who spouts hate about them wicca doesn't understand it. A evil spell caster is shunned in wiccan circles and it's against their own laws to cast a spell on someone unknowingly.
