I'm a New Age Practitioner
I believe in astrology, healing crystals, tarot cards, channeling, and spiritualism. I'm wondering why this belief is getting attacked everywhere. There was a time when it was at least, respected and many embraced the concepts. I'm not asking for much, all I need is some religious tolerance. It's not an organized group, it's free-flowing and as such, does not have the concrete leadership that other religions have. What I'm saying is that we have our place here too. Let us be.

Unfortunately this is the track the world is moving towards as time goes. With proven discoveries, research breakthroughs and such Science is pushing all these beliefs. I personally am someone who needs proof to believe but this stands only for what I believe in and not for what I don't believe in. It's quite big for someone to say they don't believe in something they can't disprove.

I don't believe in what you believe in, but I am one of the people who would NEVER bash what another person believes in. I think that people need to learn to be more tolerant and not bash people's beliefs and/or religion. I'm interested in learning about new stuff and am very open.

Uptown_babe, you have every right to speak out. That's your choice and as long as you're not encroaching on someone else's rights, go ahead and be free to live your life. Same principle goes for the other beliefs in this country.

On a general note, all religions are facing oppositions, some more than others. Yours is no exception. That's the price for living in a free country. We're able to express our beliefs (as long as it's not against the law) and others also bear the right to say they're against those beliefs.

As long as you believe in what you do, and feel very strongly about it, you should not let what outsiders are saying bother you that much. Every belief has its opposition, just do not take it personally, just let it work for you.

I am a believer to a point. I have been ripped off by a few fortune tellers. But I have also been to a few who were right about what they told me. This is something that is very hard for lots of people to believe unless they have proof. As lots of others have said here, this is america and you have a right to beleive in what you want to.
