It's fun to talk about stories told by "a friend of a friend" about these outlandish tales. For a time, my roommates and I were gripped by our fear of being drugged, kidnapped, and waking up minus one kidney. At the back of my mind, I think this can't be real or someone's pulling my leg but since so many talk about it that I just go along with it. There's one in our town where we all believed that the owner of the store had a twin snake. We avoided the store like the plague after that. Or that radiation from the cellphones can make popcorn pop. There's a lot of stories out there, what's your favorite?

Internet hoaxes are the more common urban legends. They are very obvious to me to be scams but I guess there's no telling the level of suggestibility or stupidity some people have. So many have gotten rich out of people giving money online for a "good cause."
