Time Traveller Caught On 1928 Charlie Chaplin Film??

While browsing through some forums I found this video which I would like to share with you all and get your opinions on. I personally find it bizarre and have no real explanation for it.

What do you guys think?

Did people in 1924 not wonder what all those Mobile Network masts were?

I also like the guys opinion of it not being a transistor radio, because it's 1924! lol, no let's got for that more rational explaination that it's a time traveller, talking on a mobile phone that isn't supported by any underlying GPRS infrastucture.

maybe mobile phones from the future don't need the GPRS infrastructure. I don't know what it is, but I don't think its the ear trumpet because it seems like if it were you would beable the see the tubes and the bulky front, and I don't know why she would be talking into it.

True, the talking is perplexing. Maybe the person is crazy, I mean look how he/she/it is dressed. Or, if that is a time traveler then maybe they're talking to a fellow time traveler on some com device like a walkie & not a cell phone?

Ok - we're in the future...

We've mastered time travel.

And we still rely on a Nokia type handset?

I think it'd be more likely that contact lenses would give a head-up display beamed directly onto the retina with contact details, skin patches or subdermal implants would serve as the communication device.

I would imagine there would be strict rules governing the types of device that would be allowed through the time portal in order to prevent some type of paradox.

See Star Trek and 'The Temporal Prime Directive'....

In fact bollocks to it, let's just give our fat time traveller an old bulky Nokia, that doesn't need mobile masts!

It's apparent then that whilst the technology has moved on that you don't need a GPRS infrastructure, that handset design has taken a giant leap back. maybe they thought the old Nokia handsets as used in the Matrix were a cool statement of the pinnacle of technology....

Occam's Razor recommends selecting the competing hypothesis that makes the fewest new assumptions (aka postulates, entities). It is also important that the two hypotheses be equal in other respects; for instance, they must both sufficiently explain available data in the first place.

In short, it's NOT a mobile feckin phone.

Yeah. Point taken. But it is odd you must admit. Look, I'm definitely on the side of calling this bull shit. But the quality and angle of the footage, the shape and form of whatever that person has in their hand could be anything. I couldn't tell for certain if it was a flip phone or a piece of wood.

And if we could time travel, who knows what the limitations would be on what could be sent along with you. Maybe that form factor is what was is needed to house whatever advanced technology would be needed. Or maybe the "time traveler" had to make their own com device with the materials at hand because they're stuck here or some weird crap. (Saw an old Star Trek episode like that once).

Or take the space program for instance. It takes so damn long to test and tweak computer hardware and other electronic gear for radiation, the stress of takeoff and landing, gforces and zero gravity, etc., that by the time we finally send something in space, the astronauts are using antiquated equipment. Maybe we have to use old flip phones for time travel. LOL.

Who the hell knows...

So when she stopped was she saying "can you hear me now"? LOL I'm sure there is a more rational explanation that doesn't require such a huge leap as does the time traveler one. I would much easier believe, if the video had suggested that radio communication technology has been around longer than we think, only hidden from the masses. I do not know that to be true, but it is only an example. There are plenty of explanations that will fit, but in the end it is up to viewer interpretation. Of course plenty of people will believe the "time traveler" suggestion, since the maker of the video planted that seed. Plant a seed and watch it grow.

Wow talking about a run away mind blast.Bazarre??? maybe!!!! I immediately thought that she may be listening to a music box of a favorite tune of hers, perhaps something that reminds her of a great time in her life or the favorite of a now deceased child, friend or husband/lover, fill in the blank. And as far as talking to herself or into it, Hell I know folks especially of her vintage and younger that stroll down the street mumbling to themselves all the time, if you look for it you can see people that due to drug inducement alcohol or age talk to themselves everyday, crazy who knows what crazy is. . Music boxes over the years have been made in all shapes and sizes. Just a thought------time traveler????? My explaination makes at least as much sense as a way out there time traveler,huuummmmmmm!
