Default Religion and Sprituality

Do you think the two are the same, or is it an oxymoron to think that someone who is spiritual is also religious?

No I do not think they are the same. Religion is something shared by more than one person. But no one can truly share your spirituality with you.

I think they are worlds apart.

Religion is how others control you. Spirituality is your connection to the cosmos, for lack of a better term. Most people vested in their spirituality don't need or want the control of others and have no need to control others, IMHO.

elvenrunelord is right. They are not the same thing.Spirituality is something that you have, and feel inside, while religion is something people believe in and talk about.

I do not think they are the same. Many people sometimes get confused about what both are and that could be the problem.

That was one of the main reasons I wanted to ask the question, because it really does seem that the line between the two is being blurred more and more.

Well, I beg to differ. Even though they are not the same thing, firm religious people are usually quite spiritual. Why do I say that? My partner is a perfect example.

for sure a religious person can be spiritually, but a spiritually person does not have to be religious

spirituality is for the individual. Religion is for a group who share a relative belief. One can be spiritual in their own terms and not have a religious view.
It doesn't matter what you have faith in, what only matters is that you have faith.
