Russia wants to get back to being a world power. This is a scary thing that they are doing, but it is meant to tell other countries they are back.
The big problem Russia is going to be facing is the fact they are using more and more of their oil for themselves. As the country grows, it will have less oil to deport, and that means less money. The leaders will pick someone to blame when the country starts to again have economic woes. |

Russia just wants nations to notice her. After getting through the struggle after the breakup and destruction of their economic infrastructure, Russia has had a lot of problems. It did not help that President Yelstin let the oligarchs steal the country blind of its oil and other companies. I found it very interesting that the criminal billionaires were crying about being mistreated and how there country was a dictatorship. President Putin was just getting back what they had stolen. Give Russia a few years and they will settle down.
BTW, the Georgia fiasco was started when Georgia invaded the two autonomous regions. I found it interesting that the populations of those two regions were fleeing to Russia. But since Sen McCain's adviser was a paid lobbyist for Georgia, I did not expect to hear anything about Georgia being in the wrong. Sen Obama should of done his homework, because he also blamed Russia. China does not want a war with anyone, as they would lose a huge trading partner, and they would never get their debts repaid. They want to keep Communism and still keep their people happy. So far it is working, but it is the younger ones who will rebel and want more freedoms. Can they give the freedoms and still be a one party system? It works in the USA as the Republicans and Democrats are the same party. |

Think its a bit soon for Russia to be throwing its weight around really. They have just got themselves sorted and another cold war could ruin the country outright.

they normally just sat back... is it just me or does it really feel like the whole world is going down the crapper... or is this just what it was like when it happened in the past... but as future evolves does it get worse? if we recover from this will it get worse? hmmm alot to think about...
