Where you live, are people fined for littering on roads?

Yes. The penalty is anywhere from $200-$1500 depending on where. Hardly anyone is caught though, so it makes it nearly useless.

Yeah people get fined for littering, but that is something that is soo hard to monitor...unless they have cops covering every mile of the road looking for only that. Yes no one should be littering especially when we are trying to keep everything clean...but unfortunately it will never end.

Littering is not only an anti-social behavior but also harms the environment. A heavy fine will serve as a deterrent I think.

Where I live, littering is a serious offense that can land you a $1000 fine. I want my streets to be clean, and so I support this stringent measure. Ultimately it'll boil down to the social responsibility of the ordinary man and woman regarding littering.

In the city where I am putting up, littering is an offense, though most of the times people are not penalized, but now the system has become like that, people litter very little.Another plus point is that the authorities also pump in lot of manpower to keep the city clean.
