Another sun at the opposite side of the Earth would be disastrous to Mother Nature's biological clocks. All the creatures of the Earth are programmed for night, to upset that is not science, but playing God. I also don't like the idea of creating a star on Earth. What if the reaction gets out of control?
They should use their minds to create cheap ways to desalinize water and grow food in desolate areas, and other humanitarian projects. |

I doubt it will be done. You can make a powerful explosion, that's nice; and, if it can be harnessed and stored, cool. Besides, solar panels are basically the same thing. The difference is that it would only be able to collect sunlight during daylight and the "artificial star" would be permanent.
