Default Robots getting more and more advanced

I just found a video on youtube, showing Asimo's capability of vision.

It's phenomenal to see, how the whole field of robotic science and artificial intelligence grows in advancement and how fast the research in this particular field expands.

I think robots will be more an advantage for humanity rather than our nemesis.

For example can robots help us in space exploration programs, because robts don have the common human drawbacks such as depression caused by isolation or something like that.

Robots are very useful in industry, and have been for over 40 years. The sophisticated ones help build cars and are useful in mining. It is true the can assist in space exploration, and the human crew can be put in a stasis area until they reach their destination (until we get faster than light travel, or master wormholes).

Will they ever get real artificial intelligence? There are programs where the robots "learn", but the "learning" those do are what the programs written for them tell them to "learn". There is no sentience or thought in these machines, although that may come in the future. Without sentience or thought, a computer or robot will just do what it is programmed to do.

I'm still waiting for my own super hot robot girlfriend. That day can't come soon enough. At least this guy is working on it lol

But, wouldn't the human work force get laid off for the advantage of low maintenanced robots who would work for free? This is why I call them the monster, not because I think they will take over the world.. which is unlikely lol
What I mean is shop workers.. taxi drivers, food places, construction workers, police, fire department(I don't know if that is minimum wage) etc. minimum wage sort of jobs.

Yeah, I thought about that, too. But on the other hand: If wen can manage to develop an artificial intelligence, than science will take a giant leap to the future. If you have a machine, that is as intelligent as a human and can "think" (calculate etc.) 100-1.000.000 times faster then a human, many science problems would be solved in a ammter of minutes

The majority of robots are doing the very dangerous jobs that are out there, including lifting some very heavy parts of machinery. There will be plenty of people to employ to maintain the robots, and white collar workers to program the robots. Industrial robots do not affect the jobs, and add better paying engineering and robot maintenance jobs.

Well if they get them to do crab fishing then that will be the end of a great show "Deadliest Catch"
