They are finding all kinds of life in parts of the world thought to be inhospitable to life. That does not mean it is extraterrestrial in origin.

I can't help remembering articles that I have read in the past regarding lichens and bacteria thriving in radioactive environments.
Perhaps this rain is extraterrestrial in origin, then again perhaps it's natural to this planet. The heat and pressure research on this red rain might suggest that it is volcanic in origin? More analytical research is needed I feel..... Bugs in the reactor..... Metabolised Tritium and Radiocarbon in Lichens.... http://www.ingentaconnect.com/conten...5?crawler=true

I have also heard of bacteria surviving on the moon from the Apollo visits. I do not know for how long it could survive on such a hostile environment with no food sources.
