Default Free Grant Website SHOWN ON TRUTHED IS A SCAM!

So I read about that link that truthed had on here... it was for grant writing express and just wanted to let everyone know it is a scam... being a dumbass, I ordered the grant writing express grant kit from their website for $3 shipping fee... started reading around right after that and read that the site was a fraud... I then went to the website where they allow you to type in the registered email to cancel your subscription (because in the fine print they tell you it's a $75.00 month fee) so I thought I was fine...

A few weeks later (today) I check my credit card statement online to find this....

3/13/2009 GRANTS/NEWSPIN86696008 866-9600858 TX $29.95

Nice... I google Grants/Newspin to find out other people have been charged the same $29.95 a few weeks after they ordered the cd... great.

Guessing I'm gonna have to cancel my fucking credit card, a fucking gain, because I just had to cause I thought I had fucking lost my wallet.

This shit is retarded, I can't believe the company is not being sued. What the fuck is that charge for and why would truthed.com ever put such a stupid fucking link on their website. I may be stupid for trying to get a grant for school but I can't believe you would ever put that link on your website truthed!

I note that this is your first post Three105......

Forgive me if I am wrong in this 'possibly prejudice' conclusion.

But it is my humble opinion that you are waffling.

I have posted in the past regarding the nature of truthed.com sponsors, and believe the reply that the Admin of the site gave me.

That the site is simply subscribed to a batch of sponsors that the 'owner' of the site has no control over.

IF your situation is the truth, then I would refer you to a latin phrase "Caveat Emptor" - Let the buyer beware.

It's not the host that should be wary, moreover the silly individual that purchases stuff that they have not properly researched!

If I was offering for sale a: "bag of shit-hot tricks" I would offer no refund if you complained that you recieved a parcel containing; a box of matches, a Groucho Marx pair of glasses/moustache, a turd and a brown paper bag.

Caveat Emptor my friend.......

All of our ads are produced through GOOGLE. It is called Google Adsense, so all we do is paste of google adsense code into the spot we want and google they generates ads that they produce. I can BLOCK an ad if i want to but only if I see something I don't like.

What is the website of the company? that is the only way i can block google from displaying it. Also I would contact google adsense immediatley if this is truly a scam. I find it very odd that google would allow a scam website to be show son their network as they are VERY strict about who they allow, but maybe this one slipped by them

Thanks, and sorry for your trouble.

Never, ever use your debit card for any site on the internet. Always use a credit card, as it is not money taken out of your account. You can always inform your credit card, and they will reverse the charges.

Always beware of any advertisement on any site. While most are probably legit, many are not and/or may have a tracking virus to get personal information. If you know the site, that is one thing. If you do not know the site, it is always good to check around before doing any business with them. There are way too many scams to be giving out any kind of personal information.
