I have always believed that we citizens are kept in the dark as much as possible. I don`t think our government tell us everything. And I also believe that we have that right to know. Do any of you believe they hide stuff from us plain folks?

It would be really hard to do that. The media is really quick to catch stuff.
But the government controls the media.... so... Yes, it could be possible. Most people look to the media for truth, but it isn't. That's why we qare probably kept in the dark. Cause no one will believe a person saying "Alien, alien!! I just saw tons of them at Area 51!!" then a person replies, "That's not true. I haven't heard anything like that on tv." haha. i'm done. |

Yes, I am a believer that they do hide a lot from the American people. No matter what reason they come up with for doing this, in my opinion it is wrong. We are supposed to be an open America and have not been for so long now that most have forgot how to be honest and truthful within our government.

Maybe some things are better to be kept from the average American public, but then again that is the excuse the government uses to keep EVERYTHING from us.

there isnt a doubt in my mind that the goverenment hides a crap load from the public, most probably to avoid panic and chaos, but the rest, who knows?

If you really wonder about the governments hiding things from the people it can be solved by a quick survey
1) Whats in area 51? (replace area 51 with any military r+d base in any country) that is all you really need. |

When the military developed the atomic bomb, there were at least 50,000 people involved with that project. They were able to keep that a secret from its citizens. The government can and does keep good secrets, and when there are documentaries about the Cuban Missile Crisis, they state how close we got to nuclear war. The truth was Kennedy knew all about the Soviet Union and their actual lack of capabilities, due to a spy on the inside. This information was quietly revealed after the collapse of the Soviet Union and has been written about in a couple of books on the history of the era. It is not a secret anymore, but many people still do not know about it.

We live in a free society. That includes very much citizens of other countries coming here and living here with as much freedom as citizens of the USA. So how do you keep secrets of national importance away from those whose intentions maybe to harm us,without keeping ordinary citizens in the dark? The USA is not the only country that has this policy and honestly most of it is none of our business any way.
Why ordinary citizens believe they need to know every detail is beyond me. Most people should be more concerned about what affects them directly, city council, county supervisors, state legislatures etc. They're not hiding anything from the public. They are hiding it from OUR adversaries.
