In the Wall Street Journal, July 22, 2005, an article was published suggesting that Fluoride increses the incidence of childhood cancers.
Up until recently, the the most comprehensive study to assess the effectiveness of water fluoridation (often referred to as the ?York study?) found that just one in six people drinking fluoridated water showed any dental benefit. However, drinking fluoridated water was also found to cause serious ?dental fluorosis?, a condition in which the teeth become mottled, discoloured or even pitted due to excess fluoride. This was in the order of 2.8 vs 8 subjects tested (35%). The summary of the York report is here: http://www.york.ac.uk/inst/crd/pdf/summary.pdf So, to summarise that: 16.7% Of subjects show benefits from fluoridisation, while 35% show negative effects. And if you take on board the following research list: Wang SX, et al. (2007). Arsenic and fluoride exposure in drinking water: children's IQ and growth in Shanyin county, Shanxi province, China. Environmental Health Perspectives 115(4):643-7. Rocha-Amador D, et al. (2007). Decreased intelligence in children and exposure to fluoride and arsenic in drinking water. Cadernos de Saude Publica 23(Suppl 4):S579-87. Trivedi MH, et al. (2007). Effect of high fluoride water on intelligence of school children in India. Fluoride 40(3):178-183. Bera I, et al. (2007). Neurofunctional effects of developmental sodium fluoride exposure in rats. European Review for Medical and Pharmacological Sciences 11(4):211-24. Chioca LR, et al. (2007). Subchronic fluoride intake induces impairment in habituation and active avoidance tasks in rats. European Journal of Pharmacology Oct 25; [Epub ahead of print] Choi A, Grandjean P. (2007). Potentials for developmental fluoride neurotoxicity. XXVII Conference of the International Society for Fluoride Research, October 9-12, 2007, Beijing, China. One simply has to wonder what the tangible benefits of Fluoridisation actually are. Especially seeing as there has been no conclusive study into the what effects of mass Fluoridisation upon the human species actually are[is]. Also, I'm mindful that Flouride is a by-product of aluminium production and that; Fluoxetine hydrochloride (Prozac) is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor. In closing, here's one from another bunch of conspiracists: http://www.fluoridealert.org/wastenot414.htm Enjoy! Tec x ________ vaporizer Last edited by Tecnos; 01-19-2011 at 06:00 AM. |

The fact that we are harmed more than benefited should end the entire fluoridation nonsense entirely. In the past, evidence presented to the New England Journal of Medicine (some of the most prestigious literature in America) demonstrating similar results this article contains has been suppressed, supposedly, about fluoridation.

I don't think they should put fluoride into water. If people want it, they should get a kit to put in their own water tank at home.

So far, it seems natural for Queensland to have high rates of skin cancer, given the tropical climate. I suspect the radiation from the sun may be causing other forms of cancer to pop up more frequently as well. The dentistry in Queensland, as of 2002, has been dealing with ethical issues regarding some shoddy dental work a dentist might find from another dentist and the ethical code preventing him/her from criticizing the other dentist's work publicly or to the patient. Instead of letting the government throw in untested chemicals, why not get a home filter system for drinking water? I just don't trust what they put in the water.
