In the 1980's, there was a sitcom aired on British TV called 'Yes Minister'. It was very funny.
I say it was very funny.... at the time, I was more interested in my ZX Spectrum. But now, I find it very funny. Along with 'Open All Hours', 'Porridge', 'Rising Damp' etc.... Anyway.... In the mid 80's, have a look at this sitcom which touched on a 'National Database'. All the brits on here need to pay close attention. Isn't it funny how mass media comes to reflect life? http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=RDJv3U9RlWQ Part 1 http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=hfpToShielE Part 2 http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=YVZe_sY80yk Part 3 http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=c6qliz...eature=related Part 4 ________ Honda NQ50 Last edited by Tecnos; 01-19-2011 at 06:04 AM. |

Tecnos, apologies for not responding earlier......
I am a "Brit" and I thank you for pointing out a clever series "Yes Minister". However, like most "Brits", I saw them when they were first aired (or others watch them as they are constantly repeated on cable). I'm just glad a few of you "Yanks" have caught up with an ageless series that resonates today, despite it being transmitted 30 years ago. Additional editing I over-emphasised the "Brit" element out of context. My partner is now dabbling with the Jehovah's Witness cult and, for some reason, the Watchtower (a comic for thick, ill-educated people) has an unnecessary lie. It claims to be printed in Britain (an American reference), whereas were the comic to be truly published here, it should say "Printed in England" or "Printed in the UK". I may have transferred that irritation into my comment above.

Good lord lads you're showing your ages here ahem. You forgot the great political correct series "love thy neighbor" and "till death us do part".
didnt have a speccy meself them were the days of only one telly in the house and my dad hogged it so i got myself an Amstrad cpc464. If your up for a bit of gaming nostalgia try this out (if you have'nt already) Retrospec - Retrogaming at its best i recommend manic miner or jet set willy Last edited by biggabum; 06-13-2011 at 06:18 PM. |
