I found a video on youtube, which shows to ladies breaching the security perimeters of Groom Lake.

Yep, and lucky for them they didn't get shot at, unlike the doom the signs usually portend.

They are private security, and they may not have that authorization. The main goal is to just get people to turn around, and not get hurt if they accidentally drive into the bombing range which has unexploded ordinances. The video has been getting a lot of play, and people speculate all kinds of things happening to the women. The truth is, they were told they had entered a military area and were asked to leave.

Iīm sorry (and I donīt want to attack you oryour meanig about this issue), but I donīt buy the story, that these women drive into the area and were asked to leave. Itīs like:,, Yeah you drove into a higly secured military area, would you please turn around and leave, Thank you."

Now that Area 51 is public knowledge (thanks to a lawsuit claiming toxic chemicals were disposed of improperly and caused health problems) they cannot do the same things they would have been able to get away with before, such as shooting on sight without any questions being asked. The facility technically now exists as an part of the US government in the eyes of the law and is under their jurisdiction as such.
What this means is that, yes, they do now have to ask them to turn around and leave the restricted area. Otherwise, it's a congressional hearing waiting to happen. |

1. I was in the military for eleven years and worked in the flight line. (I know of what I speak!)
2. I know all the correct procedures when it comes to unauthorized entry. Had the women ventured onto a nuclear site or a restricted area (the ones with deadly force), they would of had weapons pointed at them and would be made to eat the dirt. Considering where they did drive (I have seen the video), I know the process that was used. The security personnel will ask for IDs, and where the women are going. They will then tell them they have entered the unauthorized area, and will escort them out of there. If they create a problem, the sheriff is called and they would be arrested for trespassing. 3. You are correct about not being able to ride in and out of an unauthorized area. However, the security team is trained to deal with every conceivable situation. Unless there was an imminent threat, they acted as normal officers of the peace do. They are told to be polite, but be curt. Last edited by kidflash2008; 12-31-2008 at 10:14 AM. I do agree my military past comes in handy, but there usually are many other veterans out there who correct (or try to) what is being stated. |
