Oh man, that would be awsome. In fact this has got big scientific value too, because it could be the first attempt to create a fully operating electronic eye. And imagine this technology could help blind people to see again.
If we can manage to link this device to the neuro system of the human brain, it would be possible to let blind people see again. Maybe not in great detail (at least in the beginning) but as technology progresses with time, and I'm talking about 10-15 years, this device could copy the human eye 1:1 |

They now make cameras small enough to fit in glass eyes, I would be surprised if the alphabet agencies haven't thought of that one yet.
