Monster Quest on India's monkeyman

Monster Quest went to India to investigate the monkeyman attacks that happened in 2001. There also have been sightings of a Sasquatch like creature in parts of the country also. Monkeyman is smaller (about 5 feet tall) and may be a human or other known primate.

A fur sample turns out to be the red panda, which was not previously thought to live in the area. Blood samples turn out to be human, which is what the descriptions sound like. It is possibly a hairy person (or wearing a fur costume) attacking people. Since the hysteria of the reported attacks was mentioned, they did stop.

I was interested in the Sasquatch like creature reported, but there was not much done in that direction. A case from the mid 1800s could also be of a hairy man. I would also think a strange creature would be sighted more in a crowded city, and a man would be able to slip away unnoticed. At least this episode did have the evidence to show it was a human.
