Is there such a thing? I mean, bigfoot must be non-asexual and a mammal..

Is there sightings of female Bigfoots?

Actually, I read years ago about a female and as I recall, a child or maybe even two. I'll do a bit of googling and see what I can find.

One of the reasons so many people believe the patterson footage is legit, is because it is a female bigfoot

When you watch the Patterson film, the female's breasts can clearly be seen as she walks by. I would think it would take a lot to fake it, especially in the seventies. Her height was guessed at just over six feet, which would be short for a male.

I'm just curious, but if we're not even sure if bigfoot exists how do we know what the female would look like?

Cryptozoologists have studied the Patterson Film, good footprint imprints and reliable sightings. The female and males are different in the breasts (obviously) and the females being smaller than the males.
Some of the people who study Bigfoot in the universities are laughed at, and one professor is close to being denied tenure for his theories. (I have to find the link.)

I think it is on the assumption (justified or not) that "bigfoot" would be a mammal species -- hence the presence of mammary-like details on the Patterson "creature" has led to the general belief that it is a female.

It is not so much a matter of knowing what a female bigfoot looks like -- more females in general.

General assumptions are warranted, as pointed out by guyamar.
We might also postulate that the Males would be larger, based upon most other species following this trend.
Also, the males would be more attractive, following the examples of fish, birds, and most other animals that use this to attract a female.

Of course, those that have SEEN these creatures don't have to postulate anything; they already know what they look like.
