Sometime between the years 1135 A.D. and 1154 A.D., two strange children were found near Woolpit, England.
Workers who heard their cries, found them huddled in a pit. A small boy and girl, they seemed confused and frightened by the men who found them. They also had green skin and strange clothing on. They were taken in by the populous and raised, at 1st they wouldnt eat a thing until someone by chance happened in with fresh bean stalks... the children ate these without hesitation and then didnt eat agen for a while. They spoke a strange language! The boy later died and his sister grew older, once she learned the local language she said all she could remember was that she once lived in a land of perpetual twilight and had somehow ended up in the ditch with her brother. But did not know how she got their (there are several versions of the legend). Some believe they may have come from another dimension... some believe they may have been aliens, or come from an underground land. Eventually the girls skin turned to a normal colour and lost its greenish hue. This legend is "The Green Children Of Woolpit". Let me know what you think.

They could of been orphans from a traveling band. It is hard to say what is fact or fiction in stories that are as old as these with no official documentation. I hope someday someone will find the original town/county documents that may have more information.
