SyFy (Sci Fi) Channel going reality

It does seem that when television has something good around, there are executives who have to destroy it. Sci Fi channel was doing great with its mixture of shows when the powers in charge decided to rebrand the station SyFy. Why they did that is still debated by the many fans who hated the name change.

Now comes word that more reality and talk shows are going to be produced. I guess that the wrestling shows on the Sci Fi network were not enough, and they want to attract more of that type of audience. This is like turning an Italian pizzeria into a Dominoes. Nothing good will come out of this.

Agreed.

However, I have always had one huge complaint about SciFi/SyFy...

HORROR and FANTASY genres are NOT science fiction!!!!

Although, Ghost Hunters is not any of those and I love that show!

Although, Ghost Hunters is not any of those and I love that show!

While horror and fantasy are not science fiction, they are at least close enough to the genre. I never had a real problem with the other fantasy type genres being shown as long as science fiction remained the focus.

With the reality stuff happening, all the genres would be pushed aside. The executives will now state that the channel is not a science fiction one.

i pretty much only watch it for ghost hunters and ghost hunters international, i think the movies and other series are lame. I like to watch the HBO and Showtime series'. If they come out with other paranormal reality shows, such as graveyard hunters, inside an occult, or something of that nature, i might watch more SYFY. I love the seasons on movie channels, religious topics and UFO hunters on History, i like a couple shows on travel, Cris Angel ((MINDFREAK)) on A&E, and T.A.P.S. and G.H.I. on SYFY. Other than that i'm either working, workingout, or on facebook or here. O'yeah, twice a year i go and investigate (ghost hunt).

When my cable bill readjusted to a higher rate, I dropped the digital tier which included the channel formerly known as Sci Fi. I am now glad I made that decision as I save over $50 a month.
