Exclamation Black Friday woes

I'm kind of annoyed to see all this violence on a day you are supposed to enjoy and have fun.
Here's an example of what I am talking about:

I know Black Friday is long over, but I thought there should be a topic on here about it. Actually, I was waiting for the topic to be posted... lol.
Anyway, what are your thoughts on the topic in general or the incident I posted as an example?
Contrary from the negative, did you go out bargain hunting on Black Friday? Did you get nice deals?

I think that is why more and more people are shopping on line. There are no crowds or riots to deal with, not to mention parking, fuel costs, weather etc...
I also think people should try to save instead of accrue more credit card debt.

I personally think we, as a society, have become completely dependent on material goods. It's absolutely frightening when I talk to people who say they can't live without a bunch of the crap they want. Like vehicles... who needs a car, really? We have feet. Use them.*

I'd argue that computers (with a good antivirus) and cellphones (despite their danger) and a oven/microwave are the most important things you could have after acquiring a home of some sort.

*If I had the autonomy, I'd personally walk, but I'm 20 and live with my mother...

The problem is people have misplaced what needs and wants are. A vehicle of some sort is a necessity to some people to get around to a grocery store. If you live in a big city with a great transportation system, then a car is not needed.
Cell phones, microwave ovens, computers are not needed, as they are wants. You can survive very well without any of those things.
You are correct as this society is very materialistic, and has been for over a century. We need to get back to our spiritual selves of the very ancient past.
