This act of faith healing has been debunked by many throughout the years. Yet, when people are faced with a serious illness, they tend to approach any "evangelist" or "prophet" to intercede for them. I doubt that any healing is done. It's an orchestrated show meant to inspire. Can religion heal or is it positive thinking?

It's a show, some are well-intentioned while some want to earn some cash. No, let me change that. They have ill intents. I cringe at the thought that there are some sick individuals, who believing that they have been healed, will not allowed themselves to be treated or tested further.

I don't believe in faith healing but in these cases actually it has something to do with one's will to get well soon.I just think that if someone is made to believe that the treatment is good enough, one can improve one's immune system accordingly.

I don't believe that faith heals...but I do believe that faith does help...especially if they have a lot of faith in something, it will keep their spirits up. It's known that some people do get better when they are happier and faith gives people something to live for...but yeah I don't think because someone thinks that their faith "healed" them should stop their treatment...now that's not smart.

Fake healers are bad; even worse is if healing really does happen but that it's the devil's power being used. There has got to be some form of payment and I don't think the devil wants cash. Am I talking crazy or have the movies gotten to me?

I understand that desperate people will do desperate things. In their shoes, I will most likely exhaust all the possibilities, no matter how remote, of getting cured. I'm not sure that I will listen to reason.

These "faith healers" get money and fame for their role in the show. Even if they say that they're only asking for a "donation," I'd still be suspicious of them. All the more, if they ask for a minimum charge.

Well it seems the general opinion here is that it is a huge hoax, does anyone on here disagree?

I would say that God is not working the kind of miracles today that He was 2000 or more years ago. I know for a fact that a lot of these televangelists and such have people that go out into the parking lot before the show, find old people who can walk just fine, and tell them that they will give them a ride in a wheelchair to the front row. You can imagine that it wouldn't be to difficult to pull one of these people out of their chairs and make them stand and walk on their feet. However, God does heal. You can look at it like this; The Creator of all things is responsible for every doctor and their talents and every kind of medicine and practice. Therefore, God is ultimately responsible for all healings. But there are miraculous healings that happen today, all the time. You just don't hear about them because their not happening on TV or before an audience. God doesn't do that stuff. I'd be worried that if any of those TV healings are for real, then evil spirits may be behind them. But my grandma had a terminal case of cancer that just dissapeared and it boggled the doctors. They even told her that they couldn't explain her healing, that it was impossible, and that it must have been God.

Absolutely, faith healers are the real deal. Okay, not all of them but maybe a few. I haven't met any and there's no reason for me to look for one but I believe in the power of faith. God will give a miracle and he's not choosing where or when it is. It doesn't have to be in church or in a gathering or on tv.
