The mysterious paulding light

I Live 2 hours east of paulding michigan.. the site of the infamous and mysterious Paulding Light.
years ago...ripleys believe it or not and unsolved mysteries offered a prize to whomever could solve the mystery! A lot of different theories were proposed but NONE were ever proven
the best theory is that the lights are just headlights and taillights illuminated 7 miles away from a highway.
7 years ago i tested this theory... i brought a huge telescope to the paulding site(there were over 50 people there that night) i set up the scope and aimed it at the lights... what i saw was white headlights and red taillights.. i was a little disappointed...but as i lifted my eye from the telescope i saw a beachball sized auburn colored "orb" 30 feet from me halfway up the side of 50 foot pine trees...i was stunned!!! All i could do was point and make a few murmur noises to try and get everyone else to see it! IT WORKED.. i got at least a dozen people to look in the direction just as this orb shot to the top of the trees and over them at a 90 degree angle... Just as i thought i had solved the mystery a WHOLE nother mystery has come from it.. I will never forget that night... and i hope i get to see it again someday... it changed my life

at 2:47 in the video u see a car parked to the left...that tree next to it is where i saw it... it was right in front of me!!

Looks like a train coming and then leaving a bend...

there is no train near there... one of the myths is that its the light from the lantern of a man following train tracks searching for something...but a little research revealed that there isnt train tracks at the spot nor has there ever been... but i agree that is does look like an oncoming train!!! i myself saw headlights through a telescope whilst investigating... but minutes later i saw the beachball sized ball of light(almost flourescent pinkish red with maybe a hint of orange and amberish color that seemed to lightened in color towards the center.. ) it was 30 feet from me on the left, halfway up the pine trees...shot straight up..then over the trees....multple witnesses...freakin blew my mind!! i would encourage anyone to visit the site.... very easy the find the location doing a quick google,bing..etc search of the paulding light(or dogmeadow lights) in paulding michigan.... ive been there a half dozen times and have always seen lights... sometimes better than other nights but never ever the same... ALOT of amatuers and professional investigators have investigated... and a lot of theories have been brought up... but still.. no one knows.
i am planning 3 trips this year(spring,summer,fall). im hoping to recruit a few people to accompany myself and others during these trips.. if theres anyone whos interested send me a message!! thanx

Marfa, Texas has the same phenomenon. And these have been explained as CAR HEADLIGHTS AND TAIL LIGHTS.

I just watched something on tv the other day about the power lines crossing and given off extra energy that disperse in a ball of light. I'll have look for that again so I can quote it properly.
But I live in Michigan, I might have to make a trip that way to check it out myself.

i have also heard the power line theory, and believe that is some truth to alot of what goes on in paulding... but in the video of the light u see the power lines on the right hand side.. i saw my ball of light on the left hand side, and from the way it moved i immediately thought of it being under some sort of intelligent control... its like it noticed that i noticed it, and it took off, straight up and over the trees(at a 90 degree angle)... and it was only 30 feet away from me and about the size of a basketball, i got a really good view of it.... this might sound wierd, but the red ball of light i saw looked identical to the red orb following the UFOs' in close encounters of the third kind, the light it cast didnt shine on the trees or ground, it was "self contained" for lack of a better term... and the center(the core) of the "ball of light" was almost white while it gradually got darker red-orange towards the outside... i saw this 9 years ago(i was 20), and it still sticks in my mind like it was yesterday... i would really like to make a weekend expedition to do some tests, i wonder why the show fact or faked didnt use a telescope to look at the light??

I always yell at TV shows like that there was more they can do to prove or disprove something and they only take a few days to test then thats it. Lol Yeah it's annoying.

I know here in my home town I had seen what I can best describe as ball lightnig above my head, no powerlines nearby, but it was only the once and never seen it again. I posted a thread on here about it and everyone was helpfull.

I would like to come out that way to chek it out myself, if I had the money to do so. Maybe some time next summer I'll try to get out that way. I'll have to mapoquest and see how far you all are from Grayling Michigan.
