Here is something that my hubby had found in an email...it led him on to a page and after reading it, I tried to get him to right click copy and paste it...but for some reason it is one of those you can't right click things GRRRRRRRR!!.......Anyhoo I re-typed it out for it did interest me LOL
Remember I am just posting something from another author...below are not my thoughts (incase y'all come back saying geri you were wrong about blahblah) LOL Why are you sceptical? FEELING STUPID 1 - Are you sceptical because you feel you would lack intelligence if you did believe? FEARFUL 2 - . FEAR – Is it because you fear that what you have heard from someone else OR what you think you may have heard and seen yourself could be actually something paranormal and you don’t want it to be due to your own fears? BIG FAT EGO 3 - EGO...is your ego that huge that you can’t bring yourself to admit that maybe there really is something that not even man can begin to understand or figure it out....so your ego tells you to come up with some weird explanation that makes you look smart enough to give an alternative solution to the unexplained! PLAYING TRICKS 4 – Must everything be our minds playing tricks? If you are the hard core sceptics then how can you claim its our minds playing the tricks, when man can’t prove even that to be true??...you do claim to be a skeptic...so...try proving its all in our minds playing tricks!!! TIREDNESS 5 – If someone calming to be awake at night time saying they have seen something too strange...must it always be a result of their tiredness ? can you prove it is just plain tiredness? If you can...how?..how can you prove it was due to tiredness? What if the person claims they wern’t tired? Then what? Would you cram like hell into the web looking for another explanation that is NOT paranormal...logic logic must find logic? __________________________________________________ _________ Well I must admit, I was skeptical of ghosts ect due to my own fears, and I am not ashamed to admit it.....I didn't want to know..that was my main issue....I feared if it were true, then I was done for! And yea my ego always got in my way LOL Last edited by Geri_Mars; 11-12-2008 at 06:35 AM. |

I tend to be open minded about all paranormal or mystery phenomena, and will read the cases out there. There are some things I am more skeptical about than others, and at least have some reasons why.
Channelers/Contactees: I am a bit skeptical of this because it is so easy to fake. The voices and body may appear to change, but any good actor can accomplish that. I try to keep an open mind, but too many frauds out there have ruined this. Remote Viewing/psychics: Again, a good magician can fool people. I tend to be a bit more open minded about these claims than channelers as there are tests that can be done to see if someone does have paranormal abilities. Also, the military did have a remote viewing unit that lasted about a decade. If there was nothing to that, I don't see why they would have kept the unit running for as long as they did. All other phenomena can have physical or other evidence to help figure out what is going on. I also think a person with an open mind is not afraid to ask the tough questions. Sometimes the answers are ones we don't want to hear, and a true open minded person will accept what that answer is. |

Most of the channelers at least try to sound different. It is also amazing how many people believe them. Have you checked out the audience members going crazy for some of these channelers? It's their money, not mine!

Skeptics are needed to ask the tough questions. They keep the researchers honest for the most part. Yes, they can be a pain in the ass, but they do make some of us believers take a good look at what is being claimed or stated.

Im not a skeptic, i just like hard proof, i like things that simply can not be debunked, anything before that is interesting.. but not necessarily going to convince me of anything...

IE - John Edward's program called Crossing Over...it's BS IMO...it's easy to do what this assclown is doing..IE J Edwards - Im getting the letter M..the letter M is popping into my mind... waits for a reaction cuz obviously there has to be someone in the audience who's name begins with the letter M OR has someone that died belonging to them who's name began with the letter M J Edwards - Im getting a Mmmmm Mark,..Marcus..sounds like mark Audience member- My late husband was called William Marcus.... J Edwards..Ah I think its really him..wait..I am guessing his death was.......untimely? Audience member *sobs* yes....it was untimely J Edwards (takes advantage)..He says thank you for the kind words and not to worry about the money Now obviously if her late hubby died she will believe he was taken so soon..especially when Edwards looks at her and see's she is still in her 40's so he takes a chance.... The kind words - well D'UH obviously there was some kind of funeral service held for him..and she could have spoken to others about her husband how great he was when he was alive.. <--everyone does it..so J.Edwards again states the bleedin obvious! Don't worry about the money <--another common thing that nearly everyone worries about... This guy Edwards is a JOKE and those that suck in his trash need a wake up call Last edited by Geri_Mars; 12-06-2008 at 05:59 AM. |

I agree. If it weren't for skeptics everything would be considered real. Imagine a world like that. It's good not to believe everything that you are told, but it's not good to not believe anything your told.

A person should ask questions when someone makes a wild claim. It should be natural to ask for some kind of proof or evidence. If the person has a psychic power, they should not charge money when offering the service to those who are in a very emotionally weak place.
I also think some of the alien whistle blowers who claim to work at top secret underground facilities should be vetted and asked some very tough questions. As the old cliche goes: If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen. |
