Angel Mania, anyone?

I find angel stories fascinating. Ones where angels lend a hand to prevent an accident from happening, rescue people in danger, or where they whisper a warning. I believe we have guardian angels in the same way that I believe there are demons who are out to sway us to do evil deeds.

I think that the stories are facsinating as well...I don't know if the angels are like how the stories depict them...but I do beleive that we do have angels watching out for us.

Have any of you read Frank Peretti's books? I read Piercing the Darkness and This Present Darkness. I think it's an accurate portrayal of the role that angels have in our lives. It also shows how powerful prayer is in our lives. The war between good and evil is within us after all.

I don't have a personal experience with angels. I'm not sure what their role in this world is. I'd like to believe that they exist. I wonder if they have free will. I wonder if they live among us and subtly guiding us away from temptation.

As far as I know, angels are heavenly beings and they do not have free will. They are messengers. It's interesting to note that it was only in the early 1900s that Christians have come to illustrate angels to owning a set of wings. It's more metaphorical than actual. There are accounts of visits from angels. I wonder how much studying have been made on these alleged sightings.

I too like to listen to and hear stories where people feel like they have been helped or saved by some angelic being. These stories truly are heart warming. I believe I have experienced this a time or two in my life as well.

I totally believe in angels, guardian and otherwise. It's not ever something that can be proved, but they're there.

My daughter is intrigued by angels as well and she is always reading books about them and tells me some amazing stories.
