In 2003, a homosexual Queensland University student was awarded a PH D for his thesis which claims that Jesus Christ was homosexual.

Dr Rollan McCleary, who says he is Anglican, received taxpayer funding of $51,000 to work on his thesis entitled Authority, Inspiration and Heresy in Gay Spirituality. McCleary said the astrological chart for Jesus plus biblical clues led to his conclusion that Jesus and three or four of his disciples were gay.

I'd expect it would, as the bible is so easy to interpret in a way that makes your choices seem acceptable to the wide and mostly dumb public that wont look for themselves. It's the same way racists/fascists/sexists and homophobes justify their inhumanity against others.

It isn't just the bible though all religious leaders take their religious texts and adapt them to back up what ever they want to do or say.

All this is is a man attempting to justify his way of life to the world that doesn't accept him by attempting to show their saviour as gay. As it stands one of the men that would become the jesus that is in the bible may have been gay but the simple fact that the jesus in the bible isn't one man makes it impossible to know.

Gay or straight, the fact remains that Jesus Christ remains to be one of the most influential teachers in all history. Why should it matter?
