Default The lost treasure of the Knights Templar

This has been a subject that has fascinated me for a long time. The Knights Templar (precursor to Freemasons and Sottish Rite) had amassed a huge amount of treasure in the over one hundred years of their existence. On that fateful Friday the 13th when the King of France decided to take it all, the Knights Templar split up the vast treasure into three lots. The biggest lot of it was hauled off to Scotland at an undisclosed place. The second lot was shipped off to somewhere in the Americas. The third lot was hidden at Rennes les Chateau.

Jim Marrs gives evidence in his book "The Rise of the Fourth Reich" that the Nazis found the stash of treasure in Rennes les Chateau and ferried it off to South America somewhere. The value of it is said to be $60 billion, a sum which could of restarted the Third Reich.

There are many books out there that speculate where the treasure may be, but most are in agreement that the loot stashed at Rennes les Chateau was a small amount compared to what was amassed.
