Default site set too far to the left

there dosent seem to be a border on the left side of the main site - this makes text hard to read sometimes because its so close to the edge. at the same time there seems to be an excessive gap on the right hand side

a mate of mine uses chrome and reckons that he sometimes has to recallibrate his monitor. It only happens with chrome and he has no idea why. but saying that he reckons when it needs doing it happens on every site he visits not just one or two. (To be honest i think his monitor is buggered and its nothing to do with him running chrome) it might be worth trying as an outside chance he's right.

I tested in Chrome, IE, Firefox, Opera & Safari. With different versions (older to latest) and on several different OS's - All seems fine.
