Ancient Astronauts and Ancient Civilization: Are they both right?
I have been reading Graham Hancock's books for a while and also read Robert Temple's book "The Sirius Mystery". They both make a lot of sense and got me wondering if they are both right.
Graham Hancock is against the idea of nuts and bolts craft and extraterrestrials visiting us. He states that there was a much earlier civilization that had a very high technology. Colin Wilson also states the argument for culture being extremely ancient, but he maintains it was not as materialistic as modern civilization. I agree with both of them that cultures and civilization have been around for a very long time. The cataclysmic event that ended those types of civilizations are now being realized as theories abound of multiple comets hitting the Earth over 12,000 years ago.
I also read Robert Temple and Zecharia Sitchin on the possibility of the ancients having had contact with extraterrestrials. While I do not agree with a lot of what Mr Sitchin theorizes, I do think he brings a lot of excellent evidence to the table.
I started to think about this and thought: What if ancient civilization had advanced really far in the arts and sciences and made contact with extraterrestrials? They may have been ready for contact at that time. Then the comets hit and destroyed many coastal cities and developments. The ancient Earth people moved and forgot much of the arts and sciences they had learned. The extraterrestrials came back and tried to jump-start the civilization by re-teaching some of the stuff already learned. Much of it became mythology and other parts were coded in the great monuments.
Ancient Egyptian society kind of sprang up out of nowhere, and then knowledge started to decline. The Romans were less developed than the ancient Egyptians, and the Romans were way more developed than the feudal systems in the Dark Ages. We have since advanced, but on a technological and materialistic center. That may be why the extraterrestrials are not ready to contact us. We may be to busy trying to kill each other, and are not as peaceful as it may have been 12,000 years ago. All myths do speak of a time of great peace and an Eden like quality of life.
I just wish the ancient civilization and ancient astronaut people can see eye to eye that maybe they are both right.
