It seems a monolith looking object is causing quite a stir among many UFO sites out there:
http://blogs.usatoday.com/sciencefai...a-boulder.html The problem with the article is the photograph is too small to make out what everyone is talking about. Is there any computer geeks here who can blow this picture up? I always think it is interesting that NASA uses the shadow explanation for every anomaly that is found. |

I don't see it - where is it supposed to be at in the image exactly?

Wow I couldn't figure out what part of the original image this was at first. Very well done, What software did you use?

The original HiRISE satellite image (July 2008) was taken by scientists at the University of Arizona.
The images I provided came from the the website lunar explorer. ![]() How the experts see it: The original HiRISE satellite image supplied to Mail Online by the University of Arizona showing a close up of what appears to be a 'monolith' on Mars ![]() How the science junkies saw it: Three images of the 'monolith' (close, closer, closest) as they appeared on the website Lunar Explorer Italia. ![]() From further away: The circled area show where the rectangular feature was discovered. Thank you for posting those pictures, Burning Man. The picture in the article is way to small to make out what the hell they are talking about.
Interesting to say the least, and it would be an area worth exploring. Did the ancient visitors to Earth leave any clues on Mars or any other planet? |

Its on Phobos, one of Mars' moons.
A couple of weeks ago Buzz Aldrin, 2nd man on the moon, personal hero, went on CSPAN and spoke of it. Last edited by GiantsOrbiting; 08-10-2009 at 11:20 AM. |

Buzz Aldrin is speaking of a separate monolith. There is another one that was spotted on the actual planet Mars:
http://blogs.usatoday.com/sciencefai...meteorite.html They claim it could be a meteorite now. They also rushed in to claim that what Mr Aldrin was talking about was a natural anomaly. There are a lot of mysteries on Mars, including the Face of Mars, which has some interesting measurements. |
