There seems to be a growing trend among some ufologists stating that fellow ufologist Kevin Randle believes that all alien abductions are sleep paralysis. Here is a paragraph of his blog that states his views:
'During the question and answer period after my talk, someone, naturally, asked me about alien abductions. I pointed out that I believe that there is a terrestrial explanation for most abductions and like it or not, sleep paralysis is a viable answer to many cases. I attempted to make it clear that I don’t believe that all cases of abduction are actually episodes of sleep paralysis, but some are. I suggested that we needed to develop a protocol to separate sleep paralysis from alien abduction and was aware that some work along those lines was being done.' Here is the entire blog thread: http://kevinrandle.blogspot.com/2009...lysis-and.html I do think this clears up what his beliefs are on abductions. Some of them are extraterrestrial and others are sleep paralysis. We need to find some protocol to figure out the difference. |

One night (in the mid-80s), I was asleep (and dreaming), when I heard noises which I associated with my real surroundings. I felt it was the bedroom door handle turning, but - as hard as I tried - I could not struggle out of sleep; as much as I really wanted to do.
Eventually, I managed to start to sit upright and shrug off the sleep, but it was SO difficult to do. Eventually (probably moments), I woke up sufficiently to jump out of bed and run to the bedroom door. Actually, I realised I had started to wake up earlier because of creaking on the floorboards in the living room. I opened the bedroom door....nothing. I went into the living room and the TV, video etc were all untouched, but the garden door in the kitchen was open. My missus thought I'd had a bad dream and that I had left the back door open. We went back to bed. In the morning, she couldn't find her watch and money etc. (My watch was missing also.) So, it was a failed burglary....... However, I can never forget struggling with myself to react to the noise I heard in my sleep. In my sleep, I was trying to shout out and move myself to get out of bed, but couldn't speak - nor move my limbs. That's a strange situation to be in..... yeah deffinatly. i have several times (not in your situation) tried to wake my self up from dreaming. Its like your dreaming from a first person point of view, but of actual time. you know your asleep but your not getting the fantasy portion of it. you fight to open your eyes, move arms, and even lift your head up but you cant. you feel so helpless. its like something is holding you powerless or perhaps paralyzed. matter of fact its called sleep paralysis (not sure if i spelled that correctly). I have had several variations of it. the kind i described above, the kind when you have a bad dream and struggle to wake but you cant (til u give up) and thats when you wake. matter of fact, when i was 14 or 15 on friday the 13th, me and some friends rented horror flicks and stayed at a buddies house. i was watching a movie w/my eyes half shut, when i heard one say i was asleep and he was going to get the shaving cream. i wanted to tell them i wasn't sleeping but i couldn't move or talk. then i heard the sound of shaving cream and felt it on my head, they were giggling. apparently i feel asleep and was snoring, but i was able to tell them when i woke how the movie ended and described certain events that made them jump. its hard to explain. to wake up and find out someone was in your house is deffinatly freaky. it might be time to get a dog.

When i was younger and i would have a nightmare I would become aware I was dreaming and was able to pull myself out of sleep by closing my eyes in my dream and forecully trying to open them again, i would awake in my bed doing the exact same eye movement (basically trying to force them closed and struggle to open them at the same time). I have not done this in many years.

I sometimes try to wake up from a dream but cannot either. I think the main thing about the post is that if someone thinks something abnormal is happening they should seek out what is the cause. It could be sleep paralysis or any other type of sleep disorder, but it could be an abduction experience. If anyone has any physical effects (unknown scars and leaves or grass brought into the bed), they really should look into what is going on.
I mainly put this here because there are many who think Major Randle does not believe abductions are happening. He states that he does, but that there are too many cases that may be explained by other reasons. There needs to be a way to try to separate the two. |

Honey! i dont think we should eat the mussels from olive garden anymore. lmao

After hearing some of the excerpts from Betty and Barney Hill's tapes, I don't think I would want to experience something as terrifying as an abduction.
