'Aliens are here' says Queen's astronomer

ALIENS could be among us - but we just cannot recognise them, Britain's top astronomer has said.

Lord Martin Rees said the visitors might be in a form beyond human understanding.

Lord Rees, president of the Royal Society academy of science and also astronomer to the Queen, said: "They could be staring us in the face and we just don't recognise them."

The respected professor went on: "The problem is that we're looking for something very much like us, assuming that they at least have something like the same mathematics and technology.

"I suspect there could be life and intelligence out there in forms that we can't conceive.

"Just as a chimpanzee can't understand quantum theory, it could be there are aspects of reality which are beyond the capacity of our brains."

Lord Rees's comments raise the possibility of aliens being here - in the shape of anyone or anything.

He spoke out shortly after hosting the first conference on the possibility of alien life in the Royal Society's 350-year-history.

He also told highbrow Prospect magazine better telescopes meant the chance of finding life on other planets was "greater than ever".

So, he´s saying that aliens could be some sort of a ghost? a creature, we can´t see or aunderstand? hmm....I don´t know, sounds too much like "parallel universe" theories. But who knows, there´s still so much don´t understand.

Nope, it's more abstract than that. Parallel universes don't apply in this instance. Ghosts and other "conventional" manifestations aren't it either. He's speaking about the differences in mathematics and technology specifically so it's likely an allusion to free energy devices, anti-gravity, superluminal travel, etc. Quantum physics may be much more developed and or surpassed and enveloped in a new branch of math and science that we cannot imagine yet.

My thought is that he is right. The "miracles" we are witnessing now could be the work of a more advanced civilization that gave these to us. This is the premise of the Bible Code really.

That is the worst thing you could do with this technology. If you're going to have this type of technology (the ability to go to another planet and accurately account for the atmospheric and weather differences), then it is presumable that we would have rather perfected the ability to monitor things remotely. Besides, why would we send our own people down when we could explore with robots. So much more sensible than risking people's lives.
