Default The Battle of L.A.

caught the trailer to this new film which looks pretty cool, interesting how the advertising is using the original picture from the 1942 event , which im sure your all familiar with!, was it enemy aircraft?, was it a weather balloon (not likely!, unless it was bulletproof) or was it them pesky E.T.s!?

original pic

film advertising

and here's the trailer

and here is a news clip about the original battle.

hope you enjoy guys and let me know your thoughts!

The trailer to the motion picture looks decent. Itīs an average hoolywood action film.

But the video of the real deal is far more interesting. I havenīt heard of this L. A. incident before, so it sucked me in right away. It pretty interesting and I think Iīll do a little research on that.

Thanks for posting MORTY!

Yeah i think the movie looks really good. From the brief glimpse of the aliens though they look like robots or something :/. Yeah i have heard and seen the second video before. I like how everytime there is a ufo the government always says its a weather balloon lol.

Just abit more info on the real case i found on IGN whilst looking at the new trailer.

Tomorrow marks the 69th anniversary of the original Battle of Los Angeles -- an event which remains one of the strangest, most mysterious moments of World War II. "Never fully explained, these events remain shrouded in mystery and the subject of intense speculation," is the official word on the matter.

Well, official if Columbia Pictures' word is law for you. Of course, the studio happens to be releasing Battle: Los Angeles... But still, this is a creepy story.

"Beginning shortly after 2 a.m. on February 25, and throughout the night, unidentified objects were reported over Los Angeles and the threat was so unusual that air raid sirens were sounded, and a total blackout was ordered," reads a press release about the incident. "At 3:16 a.m., the 37th Coast Artillery Brigade began firing 12.8-pound antiaircraft shells at the objects -- more than 1,400 shells were fired over the next 58 minutes as the objects moved south, from Santa Monica to Long Beach."

So what were these unidentified flying objects? Let's say that again: Unidentified. Flying. Objects.

UFO expert Bill Birnes, publisher of UFO Magazine, says they weren't enemy planes. General George C. Marshall, in his initial memo to President Roosevelt regarding the event, wrote that the "unidentified airplanes… [traveled at speeds ranging from] 'very slow' to as much as 200 mph and from elevations of 9000 to 18,000 feet."

The Army said that the craft and the battle were real. Santa Monica's U.S. Representative, Leland Ford, called for a Congressional investigation into the incident which never happened.

"It is also alleged that ... the Army had recovered an unidentified aircraft off the coast of California that indicated that the 'mystery airplanes are in fact not earthly and according to secret intelligence sources they are in all probability of interplanetary origin,'" says the release.
In my opinion the general public are just going to go see this film not realizing something actually happened all them years ago and probably think its just part of the film promotion made up!

source and new trailer if your interested.
