The attached article is about a natural phenomenon that is now being understood. It is triggered by thunderstorms, and may account for some sightings. The article seems to state that pilots and astronauts (many of whom have reported UFOs) have seen the phenomenon and are aware it is natural.
The article: http://news.aol.com/article/ufo-sprites/355442 I don't necessarily like the title of the article, as it implies all UFOs can be explained away with this phenomenon. Most of the sightings happen in clear skies and are of obvious metallic craft. I am posting this article as one of the many natural phenomena that is in the sky, and it is an interesting article. |

It does seem many of the debunkers on other sites are stating that this explains all the UFO sightings. While I agree that all theories need to be presented for cases to possibly explain them all, it definitely does not explain the cases like Lonnie Zamora, where he saw an egg shaped craft land and several occupants walk around it. I guess it was all lightning.
